Creativity Boosting Tips - Understanding Creativity

Creativity is an inborn characteristic of all human beings. Being creative is our birthright and manifesting our creativity is the ultimate expression of our divine nature.
Debunking Creativity Myths
Before we dig into creativity, there are some myths which need to be debunked first. I have heard many people misinterpret this concept and characterize themselves as not being creative, so I feel the need to clarify things.
First of all, creativity covers more than just art. Yes, it implies everything that has to do with art, such as singing, composing, painting, drawing, writing and so on, but it is by no means limited just to these activities.
You are creative every time you take a shortcut with your car to avoid traffic. You are creative each time you find the right words to say to a friend who needs comforting. You are creative whenever you uncover new ways of teaching someone something you know.
You are creative when you pick out a new activity to try with your friends. You are creative every time you discover a workaround or manage to fix something. You are creative whenever you come up with new ways to make your activities faster and more efficient.
You are basically creative each and every time you get the idea to do something new or make an improvement.
Creative Activity Checklist
As you have seen, creativity can cover all activities we are engaged in. As long as the following 3 criteria are fulfilled, any activity can be considered creative:
It is the right thing at the right time and feels like inspired action
Inspired action, as opposed to uninspired action, is something you do because you feel like doing it, not because you think you should be doing it. It stems from the heart and it simply feels like the best thing you can do in a certain moment of time.
It has an element of novelty attached to it
Perhaps it is something which you have never tried doing before - or at least not in the same way. Novelty can be brought about by following a different approach or combining old ways into new ones.
It results in an improvement or evolution of some sort
The end result of a creative activity is always a change for the better of a previous situation. That change may be simply an idea about what to do differently next time or how to meet someones needs even better than before.
Supporting Beliefs
There is one more interesting part to this process: the more creative you believe you are, the more and better ideas you will get. If you consider yourself a creative person you will begin forming new beliefs about yourself regarding your creativity and act accordingly.
To make this plausible start by writing down at the end of the day how many ideas you have had, including examples as the ones I gave you above. Then make a grand total at the end of one week and just see how many wonderful ideas you have gathered. Doing this will start increasing the confidence in your creativity will and you will become even more creative than before.
Creativity too, like any other skill, takes practice and the more you do it, the better you get at it. But it is first of all very important to become aware of the fact that you are creative on a constant daily basis.
In the next articles, I will present you with some great tips to boost your creativity, whenever you need to generate some ideas on specific topics and try to come up with solutions to problems in a creative manner.

Goal Setting: The Truth

One popular definition of a goal is a dream with a date on it. Search the internet for methods of goal setting and you will discover a plethora of tactics, many of which repeat the same old, "Write it down. Set a date to accomplish it" advice.
Did you ever set a goal? Did you write it down? Did you achieve it? By the date you had written? If not, how did you feel?
Did you ever realize a big dream that you never wrote down? Lots of times, right?
The truth is, it is not the fact that you write your goal down that motivates you to achieve it. Nor is the fact that you set a date to it that drives your success. Only one element ensures success in life.
When your goal has a Personal Meaning Quotient (PMQ) at 100 then you will move past any obstacle, no matter how big or threatening, to reach your desire.
I created the method for finding your PMQ to assist you in knowing where and when to invest your time and energy fulfilling your life's desires. After all, something that consumes you with passion when you picture yourself living it keeps you "in the game" while desires that merely would be pleasing in your life get jettisoned when hitting a slight bump in the road to achieving them.
How then do you determine your PMQ for each of your goals?
Firstly, take a look at whether or not the goal is yours or one your parents, boss, friends, or anyone else expects of you. You will never find the motivation to propel yourself through dense muck to fulfill a dream someone else places in your future.
Your goal must be something for YOU
Even if you say you want to earn enough money to send your kid to college, the ultimate underlying goal is feeling good about yourself and happy in your life. Starting in a state of happiness allows you the success that leaves you feeling confidant in your ability to take care of yourself and those you care about.
It is all about you!
Now that you recognize your personal fulfillment aspect of your goal, you want to check out how your energy runs when you think about living that dream. Do you feel high and energized? Or do you feel ho hum and just okay?
I highly recommend using a muscle test or some other divination means to verify that your goal is at 100. Just because you want it to be and you say it is at 100 does not, by any means, reflect your subconscious state and programs within upon which you rely to achieve your dream.
Huh?
Sure, you want o think the goal you set is what you truly want to realize in your life. However, deep inside your subconscious programming counters any possibility of actually making that goal real. You will fight yourself every step of the way until you give up.
You see, if you test for a PMQ of only 99 then you hold doubts, out of your awareness. those same unrecognized doubts may well send you packing when you stumble more than once on your journey to success.
Rest assured that a PMQ of 100 will lead you where, in your heart and in your mind, you really want to go.

Top 5 Tips to Staying Positive

Positive thinking is not a common virtue among people. Optimism not only helps you be happy, it also provides you with energy to face the challenges that life throws at you everyday. If you are looking for tips to stay positive, this article will give you about 5 ways to do so.
  1. The truth is that things get better. No matter how hard a particular day has been for you, always remember that compared to the huge scope that life offers, its significance is less. Thinking about the very fact that everything will get better will help you stay positive all the time. Believe that you will feel better tomorrow or the day after and nothing can get you down. This is a wonderful tip to stay positive.
  2. Whenever you think that your mindset is getting a bit negative, think about the worst things that could happen to you and be grateful that none of it has happened.
  3. Having a healthy level of self-esteem is another great way of staying positive. You are not going to be a positive person if you don't value yourself. So whenever you are feeling down, think about the things that are amazing about you. For instance, you may have given a great presentation at the office meeting or you may have used your creativity recently. It may be something as simple as cooking a meal that your spouse loves. You can also make a list of things that are great about you. It will be the boost you need to stay positive.
  4. Don't be engrossed in yourself. Thinking about other people and helping them out may do you more good than you can imagine. Give money or clothing to a charity whenever you can.
Keeping a journal that lists things you are thankful for is a great idea. The truth is that you have a lot of things to be thankful for everyday. Losing a job may seem like the worst thing that can happen to you, but you can be thankful for having a roof over your head and food on the table, can't you? Similarly, you may not be on speaking terms with your mother, but you do have a loving husband and friends. Be thankful for the things you have, instead of worrying about things you don't. Write in your journal everyday and make sure to have a look at it whenever you are feeling down.

With a little effort, you can stay positive all the time and have a happier life.

Leaders Must Adapt And Change

Times change, situations, circumstances and conditions change, and so must those in positions of leadership. Just because something has always been done in a particular manner does not automatically mean that it must always be done that way, but, on the other hand, it also does not mean that everything must always be changes. Our greatest leaders are those that can balance those rituals and methods that should be kept the same, which ones should be modified, and even perhaps which ones should be abandoned. It begins with a thorough needs analysis, and progresses to making the necessary, yet often difficult policy decisions. Les Paul put it this way, "You cannot expect to achieve new goals or move beyond your present circumstances unless you change." Simply stated, effective individuals search inside themselves and become the change that they see and believe is needed. It's always up to you!
1. There is an adage that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." While there is quite a bit of merit to that, the challenge becomes someones ability to identify if something is working as it should. For example, if an organization runs an annual event, and for several years, attendance, interest, and revenues dwindle, there is invariably a need to change, modify, tweak, and rethink the event. Those in leadership positions who remain intransigent, and resistant to changes because their attitude is that it's the way we've always done it, probably fail to fully recognize that those that do not evolve rarely continue to exist, become less sustainable, and most definitely, lose their relevance. Remember that things do not cost the same anymore, competition is often both stiffer and more diverse, and people's interests and priorities change and adapt. Unless a leader adapts and changes when it is necessary, he often risks losing being in touch with his constituents, who he ends up not relating to fully. This is why organizations must constantly evolve, because small changes are far more easily accepted and effected, than revolutionary changes that may be needed when one waits too long. Leaders cannot and should not risk playing catch up!
2. Human nature is such that most of us find it far easier to see what's wrong in others, than to identify our own weaknesses. Those that wish to be great leaders, therefore, must be honestly and openly introspective, so that they can look at themselves even more objectively than they evaluate others. When a leader is objective, he recognizes that there must continuously be evolutionary changes, and the individual who is able to adapt with integrity, generally has the best opportunity to be a truly meaningful leader.
Change is needed, both in organizations and in their leaders. Evolutionary change and adaptation is generally preferable, easier, more implementable, and more effective.

Failure: The Price for Success

Failure is the currency in which all successes are paid: the inevitable price in any successful attainment. Successful people are the ones that I have failed more than the average person. If you have never failed at anything it just means that you haven't tried to succeed at anything either. To be successful, you have to be willing to go through the embarrassment and humiliation that sometimes come with failure.
The fear of failure can be so overwhelming in people that become afraid of trying. So they play the life game not to lose meanwhile the great ones are in the game playing to lose. That is exactly the reason why the average person is no match to the winners.
You have to get in the mindset that you cannot fail. If you tried and failed at something, know that in the process you have learned and grow therefore you become better and increase your odd to succeed when you try the next time.
Failing is a misconception that we sometimes buy into when we should look at it as an experience teacher. The most important thing is to learn from any previous mistake either from personal experience or someone else's.
We have all heard of those superstars baseball players whom batting averaging are 30% meaning they fail 70% of the time while getting paid millions of dollars. Ironically, they are the greatest and the most paid with a failure rate greater than their success. This example proves once again that we can fail our way to failure like those professional athletes.
Another thing to keep in mind while you're going through life hustle is that failure can never overtake you if your determination to succeed is strong enough. You need to be constantly persistent until success comes your way. There is no better reward than going through the struggles to finally win. Going through the pain, the disappointment, the struggles make it all worthwhile. No victory without pain. If you remove the pain, you remove the victory.
You have to become mentally tough and not even flirt with the thought of quitting. Quitting has never been an option because we are winners. Winners just don't quit. We have the built-in endurance mechanism to persist, to try again, to fight to get what we want no matter how tough it gets. The pain is nonexistent because we already know that victory, the rewards are much greater than the pain of suffering. We know the price of success weighs in ounces and the price of failure and regrets weighs in tones.
Life is about choices. We made the choice to be successful, to be winners in life's game. We are not sitting on the side line as spectators, we are in the game, in the actions and we are playing to win. We also know that we will lose some but we ultimately will win our shares of rewards and fulfillment.
We made the choice to be as great as we can be. We made the choice to fail our way to success if we have to. We made the choice to meet the challenge head on because we know that victory will be ours at the end of the day. Because we are fighting the good fight.

When Bad Things Happen

"There is no education like adversity." - Benjamin Disraeli
When "bad things" happen how do you react? First of all I guess we would have to determine what your definition of "bad things" would be. Typically a bad thing is anything that upsets you or rocks your world in some negative way. The more formal word would be "adversity" which is defined as any difficulty or misfortune.
And bad things come in all shapes and sizes. Anywhere from spilt milk, losing something you value, traffic jams, someone criticizing you or being rude to you; all the way to the big "bad things" such as losing your job, your home or someone you love.
Now the thing is that these so called "bad things happen to all of us at one time or another, there is simply no way around it. So, does knowing this make it easier to deal with them? It should, but that isn't always the case because we are too caught up in the moment and we lose the big picture.
But let's look back at some of the "bad things" that have happened in your life. Try and recall how upset you were at the time. Go back there for a minute, think about how angry you were at someone for what they did or said to you or the hurt you felt by someone who betrayed you.
Think about how devastated you were when a relationship ended or how you felt when going through your divorce. Think about the fear that gripped you when you lost your job or think about how mad you were in that traffic jam at some unknown person, etc.
Now let's fast forward to the present day. Are you still gripped by these feelings or negative emotions? Or, have they subsided if not, more likely, are they gone? Are you still mad at the person in the traffic jam? Are you still mad because of the spilt milk? Do you still feel the intensity of how you felt when betrayed? Do you still wake up every day and cry over your divorce?
Or, have you moved on?
So, why not take these experiences and learn the lessons from them? Why not look at life through the bigger picture? Is it really worth getting upset when you're stuck in traffic or you broke a glass or you lost a watch? What is the point? And, better yet what good does it do you?
And it's the same when the BIG "bad things" happen to you. Depending on the circumstances, of course you will have a gamut of emotions and initial reactions of hurt, fear, worry, regret or pain. But, looking back now you found a way to deal with it didn't you? And some way, somehow, you moved on.
So take these experiences into your present day life and implement the lessons you learned because otherwise you went through it for nothing. And, worse yet you will continue to hold onto all of the negative crap that goes along with holding on to stuff instead of letting it go.
Since the reality is that you are eventually going to let it go anyway, why not let it go sooner rather than later?
The worst possible thing you can do is become a victim because of it. Stop asking, "Why did this happen to me?" Instead ask yourself, "How can I move on from here?" You can go around blaming them or blaming yourself but that is a total waste of time. Beside the fact that it keeps you focused on the negative which does you more harm than good.
And, stop being mad or angry or worried or scared or hurt or jealous or vindictive. Ask yourself, "How do these feelings make my life better? And then ask, "How do they make my life worse? And how long do you want to hold onto them?
Because the bottom line is this: You CHOOSE how you are going to react to everything that happens to you. And more importantly, you can choose to let it go much sooner than most people do.
Try and grasp this statement: It doesn't happen to you as much as it happens for you!
When you really begin to get the bigger picture you will understand that when "bad things" they don't last forever; unless you invite them to. You will understand that when you attach yourself to a specific outcome and it isn't what happens is when you suffer.
And most of all you will understand that "bad things" happen to everyone along their journey through life and it is through these changes and how we react to them that determine how we live.
Your peace and happiness depends on how you choose to look at things. So, why not choose to hold on to the good things in your life and let go of the "bad things!"

Being Motivated Everyday

Regardless of what you do for a living staying motivated will always make the journey toward success more fun. It is almost impossible to achieve any worthwhile goal without staying motivated. Although, you may have precisely written goals and your plan of action is perfectly etched in stone, motivation will give you the energy to keep moving toward the finish line when you hit the rough spots on your success journey. In addition to staying energized, motivation increases your ability to stay focus and creative. Staying motivated is an essential element in goal achievement, but it is not always easy to keep the fires of excitement ignited, especially when things do not go as planned. The tips listed below will help you stay the course:
1. Always Use Positive Language - When a problem arises and you feel motivation dwindling, swearing, calling yourself or others negative names, or downing your project will only lessen the motivation you were feeling and attack your confidence. Recognize all problems as an opportunity to learn a better or different way of handling things. If you do slip up and blurt out something negative, immediately replace any negative phrases you used with positive ones.
2. Read Positive Phrases - Start and end each day by reading something positive. You might try reading a favorite verse from the Bible or go to the bookstore in your area and find a book of "positive quotes". Another great place to look is the internet. Simply Google "positive quotes" and you will find lots of options. Selfgrowth.com is a website that has self-help articles, positive and inspirational quotes, and inspiring video clips. There is no shortage of positive information, so keep it light and keep it positive, you will be glad you did.
3. Visualize Positive Results - No matter what your reality looks like, imagine that you have already achieved your goals and are enjoying the fruits of your labor. See yourself living a life that is perfect for you. Also, see yourself as a person of power and imagine that you have solved every challenge you encounter in any project. When you imagine a victory in every challenge, you will always have something to look forward to and to remind you why it is worth it to continue until you achieve your dream. When visualizing, be sure to think big.
4. Do Something to help someone else - Nothing can motivate you better than the joy you feel after you have done something to help someone who really needs you. A part of our reason for being is so we can help each other or give of ourselves when it is most needed. If helping someone else involves taking a brief break from your goals, do it. You may need that time to gain a different and refreshing perspective. Constantly taking, pulling or expecting others to give to you, can be a real downer when things do not go the way you expected and that kind of one track energy will not empower you to reach for your best. Take the time out to give of yourself and much more than you expected will find its way to you, automatically. You may find that burst of energy that you need to complete your project.
5. Dress Up - Sounds strange? Think back to when you were a kid. Remember, how good you felt when you wore a new pair of shoes, a new dress, or new slacks to school? Well, nothing has changed. No matter how old you are putting on your favorite outfit or purchasing something new (Don't go overboard,) will make you feel better about yourself. When you feel good about you, no matter how many challenges you are facing, you feel motivated to handle whatever life is bringing your way. Of course, simply putting on a new outfit may not erase the feeling that you have challenges to handle, but when you put on a new outfit somehow, it makes you feel more progressive. Creating a feeling that you are making progress is one of the keys to nurturing the desire to move forward and successfully finish whatever you have started.
6. Spend Time Around Positive People - When your motivation feels like it is dying down, one of the best ways to re-energize is to call your mentor. If you do not have one, take the time to find one. If you are open to receiving wisdom from others, finding a mentor will be easy. There is a saying, "When the student is ready the teacher will appear". If you truly need the kind of wisdom that can jump start you and put you back on track, then a mentor is available to you. However, until you find the right mentor, seek out other people who have a positive attitude. It is okay to borrow a little positive energy from others. This is one of those times when 'strength in numbers' could work for you. We all need a little re-charging every now and then.
7. Go Out and Have Fun - We spend so much time being grown-up and serious, until we forget to release the child within. We forget to have fun. Focusing on challenges can be a de-motivator and it can actually stifle your problem solving and creative abilities. When that happens it can be difficult to find the answers needed to get back on track. Taking a day to do nothing, but have fun will make you feel better and you will be surprised at how many solutions and new ideas come to mind. It is so important to lighten up and laugh as much as you can, because when all else fails, nothing charges your motivation battery like laughing and having fun!
Keep these ideas in mind as you work to achieve your goals and they will certainly make success come easier.

Don't Let Anyone Steal Your Dream

Some of us often dream of new business ideas every day. As you brainstorm and visualize success, something goes wrong along the way. What was an exciting idea has somehow dwindled down to a mere fizzle. Could it be that you let someone steal your dream? If we can understand what happens, then we can keep the momentum going.
We know that dream killers are people who constantly shoot down your aspirations with negative criticisms. However, there exists an even more lethal dream killer we tend to overlook... ourselves. The truth of the matter is that the phrase "don't let anyone steal your dream" could be a code for not facing the realities of what's happening in your business.
Here are some indications to ascertain whether you are becoming your own dream killer and what you need to do to help the growth of your business:
1. You're Not Sure Of What To Do Next.
Problem: This is a common issue. There are so many things to do to build your business, you feel overwhelmed and don't know what to do next. So, out of frustration, you end up doing nothing.
Solution: Because you're unsure about something in your business, not knowing what to do next shouldn't deter you. Do some research on whatever it is you are unsure of, simply ask for or find help in order to overcome this hurdle. Get the answers you need. Also, you can go back to your plan and see what the next steps are which may help to point you in the right direction. Always remember to take things one step at a time.
2. You've Lost Sight Of Your Idea.
ProblemYou've become distracted and lost sight of why you're working so hard.
SolutionWhen it comes to staying motivated, remember why you were so excited about your idea in the first place. It's important to revisit why you got started in the first place and imagine what life will be like once you've reached your goal.
3. You're Having Second Thoughts About Your Great Idea.
Problem: Negative thoughts pop into your head from time to time. People are constantly telling you to be "realistic" and go get a "real job."
SolutionThink positive thoughts. Dream killer abound, but don't listen to them because their comments might be borne out of jealousy because you are doing something they don't have the courage to do... misery loves company! You will experience the positives and negatives in your business. The key is not to let the negatives outweigh the positives. Your thoughts dictate the reality of your life, so by not letting the negative thoughts dominate, positive things will happen to you.
4. You're Not Seeing Any Results
Problem: We live in a society where we want things to happen F-A-S-T! Building a business takes time and to give up before anything even begins to happen is the sure road to failure before you even get going in your business. You see John Q. Public going around boasting about his success in 90 days, but you are still struggling six months later.
Solution: It's possible that John's skill level and his commitment to get those results may be different than yours. Work at your own pace. Develop a plan. Write the steps you think it will take to get to where you want to go. This way you will be able to track your progress. Being able to see "the light at the end of the tunnel," will definitely give you the lift you need to keep going. Stay focused and keep reminding yourself what your goals are and why you were so excited about your idea in the first place.
Realizing your dream business is easy. Staying on course and overcoming obstacles is the gas in the tank that will fuel success in your business. One of the most crucial aspects of running a business is knowing where you're going and how you will get there. A plan can be ambitious, but in the beginning, make sure it's achievable based on your ability to get the job done... not someone else's. If you are a start-up business, an achievable goal is to get through the first year and hopefully make a profit.
If you have a great new idea, don't let anyone steal your dream... not even you! Seize your dream and run hard in the beginning, so that you can play in the end!

How to Develop a Creative Mind

The power to develop a creative mind is sometimes underestimated. This statement may seem controversial but it is not. It is rather a fact. The mind is always active regardless of what we are doing. This fact also cannot be disputed in any meaningful way. Every person should be a witness to this constant activity of the mind. If you look at the past five minutes or so, you will notice that many thoughts have crossed your mind. If you look back three days, then it will be almost impossible to remember all the things that have crossed your mind. All the thoughts that may have come to you within the past three days must be too numerous to remember. This is a hint that every person has the power to develop a creative mind.
Ideas flash constantly upon every mind. Your mind, a storehouse of mental power and unlimited knowledge, is always churning and ready to unleash its creative potential if you help it to do so. Every person has a brain. Where there is a brain, there is a mind. And where there is a mind, it can be creative if the right conditions are produced for creativity. The process of creativity, as with many other human qualities, can be learned.
The development of a creative mind is not a function of the level of intelligence. This means that every person can be creative. The development of a creative mind begins appropriately with the process of self-discovery. Every individual has a brain as we have already seen. All of us also have talents in one or more areas. Some of the talents are apparent but most of them are hidden. Nature is responsible for this distribution of talents. If this were not the case, nature would have done a great deal of injustice to some people. So in the absence of a major handicap, every person can acquire a creative disposition from his apparent and hidden talents. The way to do so is to use the process of self-examination to uncover areas of interest and capabilities.
The ability to do certain things comes to us naturally. Such things are easy to recognize if you are truly capable of doing them. Even so, you will still need frequent practice to determine the feasibility's of the things you wish to do. By doing so, you will also discover whether you can do them with ease or not. Unlike those talents that come to us naturally, many others are usually hidden. The process of self-discovery comes in really handy to bring out those talents you never knew you had. This is critical to the development of a creative mind.
As an instance, if you have never written any article, it does not mean that you cannot write a book. You may have all the hidden talents to be a good book writer. But until you start writing and learning more about that subject, you will never know how good a writer you can be. The same thing applies to all activities. Take a closer look at yourself and never underestimate your capabilities. Use brain-storming and write down a long list of ideas and examine them carefully. At this initial stage, you should be concerned with quantity and not quality. The list should include all the things you are interested in doing and also those things you will like to do regardless of whether you like doing them or not. Then select one of the items and make up your mind to concentrate on it. You will be amazed at some of things you can do when you set your mind on something. The process of self-discovery is an ideal place to start in any quest to develop a creative mind.
If you wish to be creative with anything, make that thing an obsessive need. The idea of obsession is a time-honored way of developing creativity and doing great things. When you make something an obsessive need, you decide that there is a good reason why you must have it. It also means that you make it an obligation on yourself to acquire it.
One thing accordingly leads to another in many positive ways and finally into a passionate indulgence. Be passionate about an idea and you will open many doors of possibilities concerning that idea. The first action that normally follows a passion is a microscopic examination of the subject in question. You develop an unusual interest, which encourages you to learn as much as possible about it. In that process, your concentration and imagination helps to uncover many possible solutions. You may also discover other ways to originate a concept. Passionate indulgence ensures that your passion stays alive and your knowledge about the subject continues to increase. Your creative mind can becomes awakened.
The next logical step in the creative process is independent thinking. Freedom of thought is one of the best ways to find solutions to problems. The premise behind independent thinking is that a mind that is already predisposed to generating ideas will be even more active if it is tuned for more ideas. The mind, which is prompted about a problem searches constantly for solutions to our predicaments consciously and unconsciously at the same time. The conscious activities of the mind are normally obvious and need no explanation. The subconscious activities on the mind, on the other hand, are often not apparent and need a little elaboration.
Your subconscious mind is always active. This occurs in the deeper part of your brain, which stores many thoughts that are not yet available for access. As you think about how to solve a problem, you may come up with an idea to solve that problem consciously by working for it. But consider that some solutions sometimes seem to appear out of nowhere. This happens to all of us. Such solutions may have been in your subconscious mind all along but only surfaced because you did not quit thinking about that problem. Your subconscious mind is still working actively even in your sleep. This explains why we wake up sometimes and suddenly remembering and thinking and coming up with ideas to solve some of our pressing problems.
Take advantage of independent thinking and let your mind wander controllably in search for solutions to your problems. When it comes to ideas, a wandering mind feeds on itself. That is to say, an idea once originated from independent thinking, generates more ideas with further application of independent thinking. In no time, a perfect solution crystallizes and activates your creative mind.
As an extension of independent thinking, the idea of repetition is a proven method of developing a creative mind. The inspiration to do something again and again has many benefits. These benefits are based on the principle that the more you do something, the better you get at it. Practice indeed is what leads to perfection. When you perform an activity and do it over and over, its procedure becomes grounded into the mind. You learn more ways to do it better as time goes on. After awhile, the way to do that activity becomes second nature to you and needs little or no effort. This is how people become experts at certain professions. Repetition promotes active learning, creative behavior and builds up valuable experiences. Experience is usually the priceless knowledge gained from direct observation or participation in an event for a certain reasonable length of time.
All inventors use the process of repetition extensively. When you see an invention, outsiders do not regularly have any idea of how long it took the inventor to conceive and discover the item. As a rule, it takes many trials and more trials to come up with great inventions. Inventors try and try again while all along elevating their interest in the venture. Repetition is unquestionably one of the best exercises for the brain.
Physical exercise, as we know, has many benefits. These benefits translate into good health, which would have been impossible without the repetitious nature of the exercise. In the same way, we get better and better at doing something if we employ the mind again and again at performing that activity. The natural creativity in you also gets better and better the more presence of mind you have on this subject. We learn more and more each time until the point of perfection is reached. Perhaps, more than any other activity, the idea of repetition plays a more productive role in unlocking the mysteries to many of our pursuits. Make use of the concept of repetition. It has too many advantages and all of them are conducive to the development of a creative mind.
Every person has the ability to develop a creative mind. Nature gave every individual a brain and made that possible. Even so, a creative disposition will not come to you as a birth right. You have to take the necessary steps in order to activate your creative mind. In this endeavor, you must maintain a concentrated mindset, imaginative conduct and visionary behavior to harness the creative power of the mind.
Every person should make the development of a creative mind an active preoccupation. Creativity must become an inseparable part of your life. This means that procrastination should have no place in your activities. Indeed procrastination is one of the greatest destroyers of dreams and must be eliminated from all the things we do. Never postpone any activity you can do today. Unless it is absolutely necessary, do not wait for tomorrow. It may never come. Once postponed until tomorrow, you defeat yourself in many ways. Each day brings its activities and it does not help to add them to each other unnecessarily. The postponement of activities is counter-productive to the accomplishment of goals.
When it comes to creativity, today's science fiction often becomes tomorrow's reality. Most of the achievements we see today were inconceivable a few years back. But thanks to the imagination and persistence of some individuals, new inventions pop up from time to time. This process has been going on since the beginning of time and will continue till the end of time. The lesson? If you believe in the value of something, use passionate indulgence to engage your mind, body and soul into it until you realize your dream. Take all the necessary steps to develop the natural creativity in you. Be humble enough to listen and learn from others but never allow any negative suggestions to stop or discourage your drive to activate, discover and establish your creative mind.

As an established author, I am passionate about the subject of self-improvement. No one can afford to ignore this key part of life that touches every person. When it comes to personal development, self-reliance is the best approach. As the definition of self-improvement implies, all those who wish to improve their lives must take the initiative to do so.The saying that 'No one is an Island' has many valuable implications. But the one implication that draws our attention the most is that every person needs the help of others from time to time. All of us encounter genuine problems regardless of what we do. So we should always expect to run into problems. At the same time, every problem has a solution. We only have to understand this fact, acquire more understanding of the particular problem and be determined to look for its solutions. Also, stone walls are part of life. But wherever there is a stone wall, sooner or later a crack appears in it. The implication? There is always a way to short-circuit a potential problem or even to solve it with a serious determined effort.

How to Rekindle Your Lost Motivation

Finding or replenishing your lost motivation can be a difficult task for anybody and especially internet marketers during the holiday seasons! With holiday 'spirit' in the air comes many distractions that make it hard to stay motivated which can be the kiss of death for the business of many internet marketers!
Here are 5 ways setting brand new goals, at least for the short term, will greatly benefit online entrepreneurs trying to simply get back on track!
Narrows Your Focus
Determine just one goal you'd like to achieve and simply focus on that! This helps to relieve the 'congestion' in your mind of having too many things to do which is something that commonly affects internet marketers! Now your mind will be free to concentrate on this one objective!
Share Your Goal
Nothing works better to help you stay motivated than to share your new goals with your friends, family or others in your close knit community! Making these people aware of what you intend to accomplish serves to keep you more focused and their support will also be a great source of motivation!
Be Realistic
If the new goals you've set are realistic, and they always should be, you'll see more progress which will also help you to stay motivated and on course! Nothing works better for increasing your motivation than seeing your efforts bring results!
Be Conservative
Keep your objective relatively simple to increase your chances of success! This merely reflects that your new goals are not only realistic but manageable during times when your attention is being constantly diverted! This also keeps you from getting frustrated and quitting, which is a nasty habit that's easy to develop and after a while equally hard to break!
Keep At It
As you 'chip away' and continue to make progress you'll find your motivation will grow as will your productivity! Before you know it you will have reached the objective you set for yourself and will be setting even more new goals! What you're trying to do is 'shrink' your to-do list so it won't seem to be so overwhelming when faced with all the 'outside' distractions! In short you're retraining both your focus and discipline!
Having lost motivation is the WORST thing most internet marketers can experience since if they 'quit' their business and previous efforts all die! The holidays seasons are a very challenging time due to all the ADDED distractions for anybody and most especially for internet marketers! Being traffic tends to be scarce and sales sometimes even scarcer it's hard to stay motivated! On the other hand by refreshing or setting new goals during these times, internet marketers can benefit in the 5 ways discussed above! The key is NOT to be so distracted to even recognize the need to adjust your business objectives during these times in the first place, but they will happen, so plan on it!

Focused Leaders Reach More Goals

While it is quite natural and normal for each of us to, from time to time, lose our focus in our everyday activities, true leaders do not have that liberty. Great leadership is invariably about maintaining one's focus, and keeping one's eyes on the target. This begins with a vision and a commitment to goals, which then causes a leader to create an agenda and an action plan. He must, regardless of outside forces and obstacles, continue in a forward motion, by being as prepared as possible, and more committed than ordinary individuals. Henry Ford put focus into perspective when he stated, "Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off the goals." It is often not the obstacle that provides a difficulty, but rather a leader's approach, attitude, and actual degree of commitment.
1. Once you hear someone in leadership speak about or discuss what he refers to as a problem, you should immediately realize that he is not a true leader at all. Great leaders never see things as problems, but rather as obstacles or challenges that will be overcome via commitment, planning, preparation, goals and action. Real leaders are driven by what they believe can, should, and ought to be. They motivate themselves by following their dreams for their organization, and their belief in its importance. They never permit the naysayers win, or the negativity to pervade their attitude. They don't behave like Pollyanna, but remain positive in the attitude and approach.
2. In order to be focused, it is incumbent upon a leader to clearly understand his vision and objectives. He must create a clear - cut plan of action, and must commit to putting in the needed time, resources and effort. If he clearly analyzes a need, and strongly and truly believes in his goals, his agenda must be inclusive and motivational, by being able to attract others to buy into his concept, and adopt his vision as their own. Many in leadership speak of a vision, but few do what's necessary to make it come to fruition. Even the greatest vision will remain dormant and unfulfilled, unless a leader actively and consistently pursues every avenue and option to create the most doable and comprehensive plan. This plan must include contingency planning, because there are always stumbling blocks along the way, and the better prepared one is for eventualities, the better his chances for success.
Leaders must set their priorities and not get distracted by trivialities or less important events. They must have a sense of priority that causes them to focus intently on achieving the goals created by their vision.

Are Your Goals S.M.A.R.T. Goals?

As the year comes to an end, most businesses began to evaluate where their business has been over the past 12 months and where it is going. These are the reasons why I enjoy this time of the year. It is the time where you get to re-vamp everything in life, career, business; it doesn't matter. You get to determine what worked and what didn't. You get to launch something exciting and new that took you all year to prepare. Just don't forget to plan or you will be saying the same thing next year, If I only I would have done this or I wish I had enough time to do that. Well don't worry. I am going to share five S.M.A.R.T. goal tips that will help keep you on track. If you make sure your goals fall into these five categories, you will be on your way to a thriving life and/or business in the upcoming year.
SPECIFIC - First things first make your goal specific. Divulge the most detailed aspects of your goals. Be clear and concise. No ambiguous details allowed. The easiest way to make them specific is to answer the five questions: (1) who will be involved; (2) what is the end result of your purpose or mission; (3) where will the goals take place; (4) why are these goals so important and (5) which requirements are necessary to or which constraints are hindering you from achieving these goals.
MEASURABLE - The second category is to determine a measurable point of that will tell you that you have reached success. This step usually answers the three questions: (1) how much income do I want to make or how much will it cost; (2) how many new clients do I need to get or how many new products do I need to create and (3) how will I know when I have accomplished my goal. My advice is to set a real number that you know and believe you can hit in the time frame you have set.
ACHIEVABLE / ATTAINABLE - The third category is that the goal much be in arms reach. It cannot be so big and so extreme that it is impossible to accomplish. This is where you will answer the question of how will I achieve this goal. Find out what it takes and map out how you will get there. Is it really out of reach or does your plan need some re-adjusting?
REALISTIC - Next determine how realistic your goals are. Do they make sense or are they far fetched? Have the previous criteria been assessed appropriately? Make sure they are believable even with a hint of discomfort. This will help you in getting others on board to help you reach that goal. It will also help you validate why you are doing whatever it is that you do.
TIME BASED - And finally, set a time frame to meet these goals. There is nothing worse than setting a goal and then not establishing a time frame to achieve it. Goals that are not time based are simply desires. They are merely needs, requests and wishes. Set your big goal and then break it down into smaller goals with shorter time frames to achieve them. The smaller the time frame to achieve the goal, the less overwhelmed you will feel. This will also help you with determining if the goals are in fact realistic and achievable (see the previous two categories).
Now that you have made certain that your goals are S.M.A.R.T., start implementing them!

Why Some Are More Successful Working Online

Why is it that some people are more successful developing a profitable business on the internet than others? Many feel they possess the characteristics of an entrepreneur and thus take to the web in search of fame and fortune yet they tend to fall short of success in their attempts to do so!
Let's take a closer look at why some people are able to develop a profitable business online while others are left scratching their heads!
Willing to Take Chances
Dreaming about building a profitable business is easy but with so many unknown variables involved this leaves many at the starting gate! People often view the unknown, understandably so, as an needless risk to be avoided! Whether it's fearing failure, looking silly to their peers or perhaps leaving their comfort zone, it is common for most people to not take action on their dreams! One of the most dominant characteristics of an entrepreneur is their disregard for possible or reasonable risks! They tend to have a vision or develop an idea for the purpose of 'running with it' and not dreaming about it! Does this sound like you?
Willing to Learn
Never expect or assume that once you do take action towards earning an internet income that you already know all you'll need! Almost from day one you'll find there is always more to learn simply to stay competitive and your reluctance to embrace this fact merely guarantees you'll fall short of success! In order to build a profitable business you must be ready to address the dynamic nature of the internet itself along with the scope of competitiveness this global environment presents! This calls for your further and ongoing education, you game?
Willing to Wait
Are you patient enough to keep investing your efforts without seeing any 'earth moving' monetary results! Believe me it will take a bit of time to develop a profitable business on the internet primarily because you'll need to gain exposure, trust and credibility from people first! How the hell else do you expect they would be willing to spend their money with you!
Certain people tend to be more successful than others when it comes to building a profitable business online! The discussion above focuses on 3 subtle characteristics of an entrepreneur that many either don't possess or fail to employ thus leaving them short of success in terms of making good money! Upon closer review these characteristics are NOT talents nor are they gifts entrepreneurs are born with but rather can be developed by anybody! It all comes down to how badly you want to taste the sweet success of having your own profitable business on the biggest stage the world has to offer!

How to Develop Your Self Esteem

Our self esteem is lost in the process where we don't follow our natural instinct and instead think and do what is wanted or expected of us. The times that we "follow our heart," without a finely tuned internal GPS system, we are simply relying on defense mechanisms to protect us. Intuition is important. It tells us what is for us, and its results intricately tie into self esteem.
The down side of using our intuition is that we are bound to change or lose existing relationships and ways of living. So we make the decision that is pleasing to others' ears or won't rock the boat, and ignore the alarm bells. Wrong turnWrong turn! Yet we gladly move the steering wheel into a road we signed up for and now have to take.
When we give the power of decision over to third parties, and know little about where we are headed, we turn our gaze to them. They are the ones and situations we know and trust. Before long, we lose our sense of identity and with that goes our self esteem. Lost identity in this world is bought by those around us. They determine who and what we should be, and we submit.
The good news is that we can develop our self esteem by following our intuition. This is one of the very many natural tools available to us. We don't have to wait to become defensive and needy, we can make the right decision for us the first time.

How to Succeed BIG

Getting what YOU Want!
Are you getting what you want in life?
Can you say that you are doing what you want when you want?
If not then there is a simple approach to reaching this goal.
My life has changed dramatically due to fitness. Can I honestly say that I'm doing exactly what I want when I want today? The answer to that is not exactly but everyday I'm getting closer and closer.
How am I doing that?
It all starts with setting goals for yourself. If you don't have a plan or road map on how you will get there, you'll never reach it. You'll just be wandering around aimlessly with no direction resulting in failure.
Just like in fitness. So many men and women are just winging their diet and training thinking that they are improving when in reality they may just be maintaining and not growing. I don't know about you but, I want to do more than just maintain, I want to continue to achieve all my goals and dreams inside the gym and outside of the gym.
You have to have a plan because failing to plan is planning to fail. Did you get that? If you don't plan you fail, pure and simple. Write a to do list and write them down in order of importance. Do these things everyday and be consistent with them and you will eventually move closer towards your goals. There is power when you write something down but you have to take action. That is key, take action NOW!
I want to encourage you. You can do anything you put your mind to.
What are your goals and dreams? If nothing could stop you and you had no limitations what would you do? When you have the answer to that question, do it! I believe that you can do and have anything you want if you put all your effort into it. You want to gain some weight? Do it! You want to get shredded and build muscle? Do it! You want to make a million dollars then do it! I don't care what it is, give it all you got with a plan and YOU WILL GET THERE. The key is consistency and NEVER EVER give up.
Your life can be so fulfilling and you can live the life you have always wanted. Set those goals and CRUSH IT!

The Secret to a Happy Life

Do you want to gain confidence, reduce pain and stress, and achieve your goals? Do you want to live a happy life? All of this is possible for you and the best part of it all is that it is free! All you have to understand is "the law of attraction." The law of attraction is simply the idea that each individual attracts positive or negative vibes to themselves. Your subconscious mind can be a key component in achieving your goals throughout your life time. When an individual is having a bad day, they usually are first to say that the rest of their day is going to only get worse, something else will go wrong, or that it is going to be a long and rough day. Do you think that this person ever stopped to think about turning their day around? They may have thought about it. But did they change their attitude and mood to manipulate the rest of their day into being a good day? Most of the time, the answer to that question will be no. I understand that this is a lot easier said than done. However, it is very doable and the outcome is life changing.
We as individuals hold the power to controlling our emotion, actions, and attitudes. This ability provides us with such an advantage. It allows us to control our future but more importantly our present. Stress and procrastination create negative energy. Why put things off till tomorrow, when you can achieve your goals today?
Have you ever had a great, productive day that everything seemed to go right and it was like nothing could go wrong? It feels like you are almost drawing only positive energy towards you and rejecting all kinds of negative energy. This feeling can be called the Law of Attraction. Everything that is coming into your life, you are attracting into your life. Be aware of the presence you are putting out into the world. If it is not something you would want to be around, I would change it now! The fact of the matter is that happiness is so simple to attain. The easiest way to start turning your live around can begin with a smile. One smile can transform a person's entire day, while also affecting a bunch of other people around you. People are drawn to individuals that possess positive attitudes. They enjoy surrounding themselves with positive energy and a positive atmosphere. Create positive images in your mind of yourself and you attaining the goals you set for yourself. In order to reach this we make sure that you understand the meaning of being positive. The definition of positive is a good, affirmative, or constructive quality or attribute.
I am not saying that if you just thinking about something and just stay positive that you will automatically get what you want. That probably will not happen. But through hard work, staying positive, and attracting the right kind of people and atmosphere around yourself, you can reach anything you set your mind on. Always remember to go through life with a smile on your face and positive energy than happiness will never be too far away. It can't hurt to try!

Leaders Must Own Their Vision

Many of us in the leadership training and consulting business feel that there can be no true leadership unless a leader possesses a vital vision that they hold near and dear, motivating them to pursue their objectives. When a leader possesses a vision, they then can make realistic and relevant goals, and create an agenda and a timeline to achieve what they feel is important. When someone in leadership lacks an essential personal vision, it is nearly impossible for them to either have the same level of personal commitment, or be able to as effectively motivate others to listen and follow. Jack Welch stated, "Good leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion." In other words, it is not enough for someone to simply have some ill defined or undefined goals, and to simply use some fancy rhetoric to represent his vision. A true leader's vision must represent not only their goals, but also personal driving force. It is the reason that great leaders will put in the amazing amount of time, persist and persevere, and maintain the strength of their commitment despite others' objections and nay - saying, and enjoy the inner fortitude and strength to drive their organization forward towards its mission.
1. A true leader's vision must be personal. While some wannabe leaders attempt to often run away from any actual commitment that might expose them to blame, ridicule or even criticism, all real leaders not only have strong feelings about how important their vision is, but are proud of what it represents, and how important it is. This does not mean that a leader should have an overbearing ego, nor does it mean that he should have a closed - minded approach. It means that his vision should help be his guideline for setting priorities, setting directions, and creating his agenda for his organization.
2. Have you ever wondered why someone would sacrifice as much as he does, and put in so much time and personal effort and resources, in order to lead an organization? What makes true leaders unique is that they place the organization they care so much about as a highest priority, often, at least temporarily, making certain personal sacrifices. Great leaders need understanding and supportive family and friends, who understand how this vision is driving them to make a difference and how their vision has become a very essential component of their being. Perhaps one of the reasons it is often so difficult to find real leaders is that so few people on the leadership path are doing so for personal vision oriented reasons.
What is your personal vision? Do you feel so strongly about it that it has become part of you? Consider your reason for wanting to become a leader before following a leadership trajectory!

The Mind Of Success

Nobody is who they are or where they are by some misguided unfortunate act of misfortune. We are who we are today or where we are in order to learn from our circumstances so we may grow; if we feel our lot is a burden unjustly imposed and fail to learn from it, we shall remain where and who we are.
Every person has a seed of ingenuity in them; that we have not yet unveiled deeds of potential benefit to mankind means we are a work in progress. We can achieve anything if we make up our minds completely and definitely to pursue our hearts desires and apply that creative talent given to us at birth to its fullest potential.
The mind is the pathway to universal abundance; if we have not yet acquired wealth, it means that somewhere along the line our minds have been disconnected from the source of wealth and prosperity.
In order to reconnect and become one with the source of wealth and prosperity, you must first become one with yourself, you must feed your mind with positive desires; create value for the benefit of others so that abundance of value can be added unto your life. If you provide others the opportunity to achieve that which you seek and desire, that which you seek and desire will come to you effortlessly.
There are no short-cuts to success. Wherever your mind goes your body follows because the body caters to the needs of the mind. First take care of your mind, and your mind will take care of the business that will launch your professional career, entrepreneurial quest and your moral ethic on the path leading to a self fulfilling prophecy.
Without training your mind for success, without developing the mindset to succeed, success will elude you. It will be impossible for you to achieve success in any category that matters. The more you try to achieve your heart desires, the harder it will be. The closer you get to success, the further away it will become. When you think you have it figured out, you will realize how little you know.
Feed your mind with ideas and materials that create positive desire instead of activities that produce immediate gratification. Concentrate your thoughts on what you desire and provide others means to achieve that which you seek, if financial freedom is the future you seek, you will be financially rewarded.
If you cannot give others what they want, you will not get what you desire. If you hoard information that will benefit others in order to amass wealth so you can be the envy among men or women, you might probably not make a penny more than you already have today.
The more you provide others the same opportunity you received either from a learning curve or divine intervention, the more wealth you will accumulate. Share that which is good and beautiful with everyone with whom you come in daily contact, you will receive more of that which is good and beautiful. The source of wealth is like a light, if you hide it from others, you also hide it from yourself.

Do You Deserve to Be Successful?

I received some really inspiring feedback from a 72 year old gentleman yesterday in which he affirms that, had he just committed to carry out small daily disciplines throughout his life, he would have managed to achieve so much more. He also affirmed that had he focused his energy daily and not spent his life spinning his wheels, "NO-Thing" was beyond his reach. Well the great news for Samuel and everyone else, who reads my daily articles, is that, wherever you are right now and whatever stage you are in your life that is the perfect place to start. Commit to daily discipline; carry out the right tasks daily and a world of possibility opens up to you.
Becoming a Winner
I believe that the most crucial attribute of anyone who wants to live a life of meaning and fulfillment  is first to believe that they deserve success. Unless you can believe in the promise your dreams offer and that you deserve to enjoy the wonder they will bring. You will never have the discipline to carry out, the often difficult daily activities, necessary to succeed.
Belief gives you the ability to hang onto your dreams, when that is all you have to hang onto and allows you to identify your hidden talent and potential. Only once you identify and believe in your talent and potential to succeed, will you invest the time and resources into improving your talent, skills and knowledge. When you believe in yourself and that you deserve to enjoy the fruits of your dreams, you will realize that you are worth the effort and if you believe you can, you will learn how.
Healthy Self-Esteem
Give yourself permission to like yourself, be authentic and be glad to be who you are. Be willing to be yourself, as everyone else is taken. There is no-one else exactly like you on this beautiful planet. You are unique and special, with a unique set of talents, skills, knowledge and perceptive background, which sets you apart from everyone else.
With practice you will learn to love yourself and who you are. Learn to say "I would rather be me than anyone else on this planet", really learn to exploit your strengths and get the support your need to mitigate your weaknesses'. With practice you will learn to like who you are and realize that you are truly magnificent. This healthy self-esteem will stand you in good stead and allow you to make the most of who you are.
Never Compare yourself to Others
Stop looking outside of yourself and comparing how you stack up against other people, as this is counter-productive and limits your potential. Rather look inward and discover your own unique strengths, abilities, interests and goals. When you can see all the wonderful, unique strengths, abilities and skills you possess, you will begin to project a confident aura to the world around you. This will teach everyone to respond to you in a far more positive light and they will also be willing to support you in your efforts to succeed.
Action Idea: To support your belief in yourself, and to help you to consistently keep growing your skill and ability, commit to upgrade your personal development and on-going education. This commitment will help you to consistently see growth and expansion in yourself, which will help you to grow your belief in yourself and your potential.
Discovering Meaning and Fulfillment - Look Within
Have the wisdom to see that the diamonds you are looking for, to bring meaning and fulfillment into your experience, are waiting to be uncovered in your own backyard. The backyard I am referring to here is in your own mind, where your belief, sense of values and self-worth are embedded.
Once you unlock your own internalized feelings of value and worthiness, your world opens up and you will see that you have so much to share with the world. You will realize that you are worthy of success and that your own diamond is waiting to be uncovered, shaped and polished into the future you desire.
Yes we are not all born with the same mental and physical uniforms, but we all have the equal right to live a life of meaning and fulfillment  What are you waiting for, allow your diamond to shine and fill the world with your excellence.
